Overview
Recify is a Chrome extension for screen recording and video editing. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your information. The short version: your recordings are processed locally in your browser, and we only upload them to our servers when you explicitly click Share.
What We Collect
When you use Recify without an account, we collect no personal data. Your recordings are processed entirely in your browser. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google. We use this only to identify your account and display your profile. When you share a recording, the video file is uploaded to our secure cloud storage so others can view it via a share link. You can delete shared recordings at any time from your dashboard.
How We Use Your Data
We use your data exclusively to provide the Recify service: - Account information: to authenticate you and display your profile - Shared recordings: to host and deliver your shared videos - Usage analytics: anonymous, aggregated data about feature usage to improve the product (no personal data, no recording content) We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.
Data Storage and Security
Recordings are processed locally in your browser using modern web APIs. Video data never leaves your device unless you explicitly share it. Shared recordings are stored on secure, encrypted servers. We use HTTPS for all data transmission. Account data is stored securely with industry-standard encryption.
Permissions
Recify requests the following Chrome permissions: - Tab access: to record the contents of your browser tabs - Microphone: to capture your voice narration (optional — you can deny this) - Camera: to show your face via the facecam bubble (optional — you can deny this) You can deny microphone and camera permissions and still use core recording functionality. Recify only accesses these when you explicitly start a recording.
Cookies and Tracking
Recify does not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics scripts on our website. We use essential cookies only for authentication when you sign in. We do not track your browsing activity outside of the Recify extension.
Your Rights

Changes to This Policy
